To change the drill bit on the ROTHENBERGER Rodiadrill 500 Drilling System, follow these steps:
1. Make sure you are wearing protective gloves.
2. Use an open-ended spanner (SW 36) to hold the drive shaft and release and unscrew the drill bit using an open-ended spanner (SW 24 for G 1/2" bits; SW 41 for 1.1/4" UNC bits). Note that the drill bit has a right-hand thread, so you need to turn it counterclockwise to unscrew it.
3. If you are using a drill bit with a 1.1/4" UNC xxxx thread, it is recommended to place a copper ring (No. FF35190) between the drill motor and the drill bit. This will make it easier to separate the drill bit from the motor after drilling and compensate for any unevenness between the drill bit fitting and the drive shaft.
Please refer to the instruction manual for more detailed information and illustrations on how to change the drill bit.
