To set up the FLAIM Trainer virtual reality training system, follow the steps outlined in the FLAIM Trainer User Guide. Here is a summary of the setup process:
Part 1:
- Put battery holders on top of the tripods.
- xxxx tripod swivel mounts and base stations onto the tripods.
- Insert batteries into the battery holders.
- Connect power cables after you have placed the tripod in the right place.
- Raise tripods to approximately 2m/7ft height.
- Set up tripods 6m/13ft apart, diagonally.
Part 2:
- Set up the hose reel at the back of the training area.
- Secure the hose reel to a fixed point or heavy object.
- Connect the hose reel to a powerpoint/electrical outlet.
Part 3:
- Connect the Miracast HDMI receiver to a TV or projector with an HDMI cable.
- Connect the HDMI receiver to power via a USB cable to the TV/projector.
- If the TV has no USB, use a USB power supply.
- Select the correct output on your TV or projector.
Part 4:
- Lay down the BA (Breathing Apparatus) set with the connected VR Headset in front of the hose reel.
- With the hose reel behind you, point the VR Headset straight ahead.
- Insert the battery into the battery compartment of the BA set.
- Turn on the BA and wait for up to 4 minutes.
- Check that the on/off button LED light on the BA is on.
- Check that the HDMI receiver has connected to the FLAIM BA computer.
- Check that the bottom of the screen shows the FLAIM control window.
- Check that the LED light on the VR Headset is green (and not red).
Part 5:
- Take the nozzle and connect it to the hose.
- Take the tracker "puck" and connect it (magnet) to the front of the nozzle.
- Click and release the puck center button. Wait a few seconds for the LED.
- Check that the puck LED light is on.
- Check that the hose reel retracts when water is turned on.
Part 6:
- Take the mouse and turn it on.
- Pickup the iPad.
- Double click the iPad button and stop (swipe away) running programs.
- Start the FLAIM Trainer program on the iPad.
- Run "Room Setup" on the iPad - when done, turn off and store the mouse.
- Click "Restart FLAIM System" on the iPad.
Part 7:
- Start a scenario.
- Turn on the Heat Suit on the iPad.
- Check that the VR Headset shows the scenario and detects motion.
- Check all functions of the nozzle.
- Check the Heat Suit.
