To clean and descale the Faber FCK 106 Jug Kettle, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the kettle from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Never immerse the kettle, power cord, or power base in water, or allow moisture to come into contact with these parts.
3. Wipe the exterior of the kettle with a damp cloth or cleaner. Do not use chemical, steel, wooden, or abrasive cleaners to prevent damage to the kettle's surface.
4. Clean the filter at regular intervals. Detach the filter for easier cleaning and replace it after cleaning.
5. To remove mineral deposits, you can use a commercially available descaler following the instructions on the package. Alternatively, you can use white vinegar:
a. Fill the kettle with 3 cups of white vinegar, then add water to cover the bottom of the kettle completely. Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
b. Discard the vinegar mixture and fill the kettle with clean water. Boil the water and discard it. Repeat this process several times until the vinegar odor is flushed away.
c. Any remaining stains inside the spout can be removed by rubbing with a damp cloth.
Remember to always follow the safety precautions mentioned in the instruction manual while cleaning and maintaining the kettle.
