1. After examining a patient, clean the stethoscope with a 70% alcohol solution. You can use a soaked tissue or cloth for this purpose.
2. Make sure to clean all the components of the stethoscope, including the diaphragm, hoses, and headset, including the ear tips. Use the alcohol solution or a mild soap solution for thorough cleaning.
3. If necessary, you can remove the ear tips and membrane for a more thorough cleaning. Remove the retaining ring on the diaphragm and handle it with care to prevent damage.
4. Allow all the components to dry completely before reassembling the stethoscope.
Note: Automatic cleaning is not allowed, and sterilization processes are not suitable for stethoscopes.
It is important to follow these cleaning and disinfection procedures to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of infections.
