To install the blinds, you have three options for bracket installation: top-fixing, side-fixing, or face-fixing. The wider blinds come with support brackets that should be positioned towards the center of the window area. Make sure the support bracket is clear of any cords coming out of the headrail. For safety reasons, ensure that the top of the blind is installed at least 150cm (1500mm) from the floor.
To fit the blind, if you are fitting it inside a recess, follow step 3 before step 2. Lift the blind to the window and slot the headrail into the open brackets. Swing the hinged section of the bracket closed and press firmly until it locks.
If the slats do not move when you pull the cords to tilt the blind, make sure the slats are open and that the tilt cords are the same length. Stack the blind up tightly and lock it off, then take it down from the brackets. Push the metal rod inside the headrail all the way over to the left, so that it is connected to the tilting mechanism.
To fit the pelmet, hook the pelmet clips over the front of the headrail, spaced out evenly. Push the pelmet into the clips until it snaps into place. If you have ordered 'exact fitting,' the pelmet will be sent wider and mitred at the ends, with additional end returns to cover the brackets. Use the 'L' shaped metal brackets from your fittings pack and attach the side returns to the pelmet using the screws provided.
For child safety, the blind comes with a pre-fitted breakaway cord condenser. If the cord condenser is pulled apart, untwist the cords and slot them into the channel in the center of one half of the condenser. Click the two halves back together, ensuring there is no loose thread trapped at the edges of the condenser. It is important to keep cords out of the reach of young children to avoid strangulation and entanglement.
To further enhance child safety, a cord safety cleat is provided. Install the safety cleat as close to the headrail as possible, not less than 1500mm from the floor. Mark the hole positions on the wall, drill as required, and use the screws provided to attach the safety cleat. Wrap the cords around the cord cleats in a figure of 8. Ensure the cords are fully accumulated and secure so that no excess cord is released when any cord is pulled.
