To collect a sample using the hygiena HSB100BPWP Environmental Sample Collection Sponge N Bag, please follow these steps:
1. Label the sample bag with a permanent marker for identification. If provided, put on sterile gloves.
2. Hold the bottom of the bag and shake it upside down to move the sponge to the top of the bag.
3. Turn the bag upright and squeeze the outside of the bag to hold the sponge at the top. Remove the tear-off strip.
4. Carefully remove the sponge from the bag while wearing gloves.
5. Swab a 12 x 12 in (30 x 30 cm) area of interest.
6. Apply even pressure to maximize sample collection.
7. Swipe the entire area of interest horizontally.
8. Turn the sponge over and swipe the same area vertically.
9. Finally, swipe the area diagonally in each direction.
10. Use the pull tabs to open the bag and insert the sponge.
11. Roll the top of the bag over three times and fold in the tabs to seal it. The sample is now ready for delivery to the laboratory.
Please note that sampling should be done aseptically to avoid cross-contamination. Also, ensure that you do not reuse the sponge as it is designed for single-use only.
