To properly level and install the Groen 208-6-1 Electric Boilerless Connectionless Convection Steamer, follow these steps:
1. Location & Placement: The steamer can be placed on a standard commercial kitchen countertop or on a stainless steel stand. It does not usually require a hood or vent, so it can be placed anywhere in the kitchen.
2. Leveling: The steamer must be installed in a level condition. For countertop installation, adjust the four legs as needed to level the steamer. If installing the unit onto a stand, bolt the unit(s) in place at the four locations on the bottom of the cooker and level the unit(s) by adjusting the four legs on the stand.
3. Electrical Supply: Ensure that the electrical supply meets the requirements listed on the data plate located on the rear of the unit. If you have any doubts about the voltage or grounding, consult a qualified electrician or serviceman.
4. Water Connection (Auto-Fill Models Only): Connect the steamer to a water supply not exceeding 60 PSI using an NSF approved appliance hose with a ¾” garden hose type connection. Make sure to install adequate backflow protection to comply with applicable codes.
5. Power Requirements: Make sure the voltage at the supply receptacle is within +/- 10% of the voltage listed on the cooker's data plate. Using any other voltage may cause damage to the cooker and void the warranty.
6. Grounding: Plug the grounding wire and plug into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded. Do not cut or bend the plug to fit a receptacle other than the one specified.
