To connect the Cortex EBC Complete Kit with Internal Display to your 1988-1995 Mustang PCM, follow the wiring instructions provided in the manual. The PCM is located inside the vehicle, behind the kick panel in the passenger side foot well near the door. It has a single large 60-pin connector. Here are the connections you need to make:
1. +12V Power:
- Cortex Signal: Red wire
- PCM Signal: Switched PCM Power
- PCM Pin: 37
- PCM Wire Color: Red
2. Ground:
- Cortex Signal: Black wire (x2)
- Connect to Chassis Near EBC
3. Engine Speed:
- Cortex Signal: Pink wire
- PCM Signal: Cam Position Signal (PIP)
- PCM Pin: 56
- PCM Wire Color: Dark Blue or Gray/Orange
4. Throttle Position:
- Cortex Signal: Orange wire
- PCM Signal: Throttle Position
- PCM Pin: 47
- PCM Wire Color: Dark Green/Light Green or Gray/White
For boost by gear applications, RPM and vehicle speed signals are required. You can connect the Speed Sensor Adapter V2 to the same power and ground source as the Cortex EBC if desired. Here are the connections for the Speed Sensor Adapter V2:
1. Sensor IN+:
- Speed Sensor Adapter V2 Signal: Green wire
- PCM Signal: VSS +
- PCM Pin: 3
- PCM Wire Color: Dark Green/White or Gray/Black
2. Sensor IN-:
- Speed Sensor Adapter V2 Signal: Blue wire
- PCM Signal: VSS -
- PCM Pin: 6
- PCM Wire Color: Orange/Yellow or Pink/Orange
Make sure to follow the wiring instructions carefully and double-check all connections before powering on the Cortex EBC Complete Kit with Internal Display.
Additionally, the manual provides information on configuring the vehicle settings for RPM detection, gear detection, speed detection, and throttle position detection. Follow the steps in the Setup sections of the Help utility to determine the correct settings for your specific vehicle.
