To set up your Google Nest Wifi router, follow these steps:
1. Download the Google Home app on your Android or iOS device.
2. If this is your first time using the app, set up a home.
3. Position your Google router in a location that is not obstructed by objects, preferably at eye-level or higher for optimal Wifi performance.
4. Connect the Ethernet cable to the Nest router's WAN port. For FTTP/FTTC/HFC/Fixed Wireless connections, the Ethernet cable will run from the nbn™ connection device. For FTTN/B connections, the Ethernet cable will run from the modem.
5. Plug the power adapter into the Google Nest router and wait for the light to pulse white, indicating that the router is powered on and ready for setup.
6. Open the Google Home app on your phone or tablet and log in using your Google account.
7. Tap on the "+" icon and choose "Set up device."
8. Under "New devices," select "Set up new devices in your home."
9. Choose a home.
10. Take a photo of the QR code or manually input the setup key located on the bottom of the Google Nest router. Once the code is applied correctly, you should be connected to the router's Wifi.
11. When prompted to configure the connection type, select "WAN" and then "PPPoE." Enter the username (Account Name) and password provided in your email from Tangerine.
12. Return to the home page, click "Next," and you'll be asked to create a Wifi name.
13. Give your Wifi network a secure name and password. The password you create will be needed later when connecting your devices to the Wifi.
14. The router will create the Wifi network, which should only take a few minutes.
15. If you want to add another Wifi device, you can do so by tapping "Yes" in the app or add extra devices later through the "Add +" > "Set up device" menu in Google Home.
You are now successfully connected to Google Nest Wifi. If you encounter any difficulties during the setup process, you can refer to the WAN settings from Google Nest Help or reach out to Tangerine's friendly technical support team via Live Chat or the contact us page for further assistance.
