To install the Netzer DS-40 Absolute Rotary Encoder, follow these steps:
1. Encoder Mounting: Attach the encoder rotor to the host shaft by pressing it against a dedicated shoulder. Use a xxxx and washer or circular spring and washer to maintain pressure. Center the encoder stator and attach it to the host stator using three M2 screws.
2. Encoder Stator/Rotor Relative Position: The rotor is floating, so the distance between the shaft shoulder and stator mounting recess should be ±0.05 mm nominal. You can use rotor shims to compensate for any mechanical mounting discrepancies.
3. Unpacking: The standard package includes the encoder with a 250mm shielded cable. Optional accessories are available for purchase separately.
4. Electrical Interconnection: The encoder can be connected in two operational modes: absolute position over SSi or BiSS-C, or setup mode over NCP. Follow the provided color code for wiring the encoder to the appropriate interface.
5. Electrical Connection and Grounding: Ensure that the cable shield does not connect to the power supply return line. Ground the host shaft to prevent interference and encoder internal noise. Use a 4.75 to 5.25 VDC power supply.
