To connect the ASHLY DSP480 Protea Loudspeaker System Processor to your audio system, follow these steps:
1. Audio Connections: The ASHLY DSP480 uses three-pin XLR jacks for audio connections. Make sure to use balanced audio signals whenever possible. Connect your audio sources to the XLR inputs on the DSP480 and connect the XLR outputs to your amplifiers or speakers.
2. Power Connection: The DSP480 has a universal input power supply that accepts any line voltage in the range of 100VAC to 240VAC, 50-60Hz. Connect the provided detachable power cord to the AC inlet on the rear panel of the DSP480 and plug it into a power outlet.
3. USB Connection: The DSP480 has a USB port on the front and back panel. Use the provided USB-A to USB-B cable to connect the DSP480 to a computer running the Ashly Protea NE software. This allows for complete control of the unit through the software.
4. RS-232 Data Connections: If you are using third-party controllers for control of the DSP480, you can use the RS-232 data connections. For detailed information on implementing RS-232 control, refer to the Ashly service department.
5. Verify Settings: Once everything is connected, use the front panel interface or the Ashly Protea NE software to verify and adjust the settings of the DSP480. This includes setting input and output gains, applying EQ filters, adjusting delay settings, configuring crossovers, and setting up limiters.
