To connect devices to the Leonton PG5-1802-SFP Series switch, you can use the RJ-45 ports or the SFP slots. The RJ-45 ports are auto-sensing for 10Base-T, 100Base-TX, or 1000Base-T devices, meaning you can connect devices without changing the straight-through or crossover cabling. The SFP slots allow for optical transceivers to be used for optical communication.
For RJ-45 ports:
1. Use a straight-through or crossover Ethernet cable, depending on the devices you are connecting.
2. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 port on the switch.
3. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port of the device you want to connect.
For SFP slots:
1. Insert the SFP transceiver module into the SFP slot on the switch, ensuring that the triangle mark on the transceiver is at the bottom of the slot.
2. Connect the fiber cable of the LC connector to the transceiver.
3. To remove the LC connector from the transceiver, press the upper side of the connector and pull it out.
4. To remove the transceiver from the slot, push down the metal clasp and pull the transceiver out by the plastic part.
Please refer to the "Physical Dimensions" and "Ethernet Ports" sections of the user manual for visual representations and further details on connecting devices to the switch.
