To install the Hunter 19430, 19431 Perch Point+ light fixture, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect the power by turning off the circuit breakers to the outlet box associated with the wall switch location to avoid electrical shock.
2. Ensure that the installation site has a ground wire. If not, consult a qualified electrician before proceeding.
3. Familiarize yourself with national and local electrical codes ANSI/NFPA 70 and consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about wiring.
4. Carefully remove all contents from the carton and remove the old fixture from the wall, including the old mounting bracket.
5. Take out the new mounting bracket assembly from the bag and remove the cap nuts from the mounting screws.
6. Place the mounting plate over the junction box, ensuring that the mounting screws and nuts extend away from the wall.
7. Adjust the position of the mounting screws so that they can be exposed 5-6 mm after passing through the backplate to properly fit the cap nuts. You can adjust the mounting screws by loosening or tightening them and the nuts.
8. Once the ideal position of the mounting screws is confirmed, tighten the nuts on the front of the mounting plate to secure the mounting screws.
9. Pull the house wires through the center of the mounting plate and secure the plate to the junction box by tightening the screws.
10. Have a helper support the fixture's weight while completing the wiring.
11. Connect the fixture's wires to the power supply wires from the junction box: black to black (Live), white to white (grounded), and grounding to grounding (green or copper).
12. Twist the ends of the wire pairs together and twist on a wire connector, ensuring all twists are in the same direction.
13. Loop the fixture's ground wire around the grounding xxxx and tighten it. If there is no ground wire from the junction box, contact a qualified electrician.
14. Place the fixture's backplate over the mounting screws so that the threads protrude through the holes on the front of the backplate.
15. Tighten the cap nuts onto the mounting screws until the backplate of the fixture is snugly against the wall.
16. Install a light bulb (not included) according to the fixture's specifications, making sure not to exceed the recommended wattage.
17. Turn on the power and test the fixture. Your installation is now complete.
