Installation:
1. Choose a suitable location for the RCO device, preferably indoors, in a single-gang switch box.
2. Mount the RCO device in the switch box, either flush or surface-mounted.
3. Wire the RCO device to the SCP-120 Premium Snow Melt Control or the SCA-DUAL Advanced Control. Use up to 500 feet (152.4m) of #18 wire via a NEC Class 2 low voltage circuit.
4. Ensure that the RCO device is securely connected and properly grounded.
Usage:
1. The RCO device allows you to monitor and control your snow/ice melting system from a remote location.
2. In situations where the automatic heater operation needs to be overridden, such as when the sensor is not exposed to drifting or tracked snow and slush, you can use the RCO device.
3. Locations like parking garage entrances, building portals, and loading docks, which are often exposed to tracking problems, can benefit from the manual override feature.
4. Spring and fall storms that deposit heavy, wet snow at a rate the heaters cannot melt can also be addressed by using the RCO device.
5. The RCO device provides a switch for operating the heaters for the hold-on time, allowing you greater control over the snow/ice melting system.
6. The RCO device has indicators that show the status of the snow/ice melting system, providing you with visual feedback.
