To connect the Power Dynamics PD612A 12 Inch Active Speaker to a mixer, follow these steps:
1. Locate the rear panel of the speaker.
2. Identify the balanced combi connector, which is a combination XLR input and 1/4" (6.3mm) jack input.
3. Use an XLR cable or a 1/4" (6.3mm) jack cable to connect the output of your mixer to the balanced combi connector on the speaker.
4. Set the input sensitivity switch to the appropriate position based on your input source:
- Line: Use this mode when connecting the speaker to a line-level output from a mixer.
- Mic: Use this mode when connecting a dynamic microphone directly to the speaker. Note that this mode should not be used when connecting to a mixer output.
5. Adjust the volume control for channel 1 on the rear panel to set the desired level for that channel.
6. If needed, connect another amplifier to the balanced parallel XLR output on the rear panel of the speaker. This output is linked in parallel with the audio input and can be used to connect additional speakers or amplifiers.
7. Finally, turn on the power switch on the rear panel of the speaker and adjust the amplifier volume control to the desired level.
