To connect the Intellijel XFADE 1U module to your Eurorack case, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that your power supply has a free power header and sufficient available capacity to power the module. Check the manufacturer's technical specifications for the current draw of the XFADE 1U module and compare it to your case's power supply specifications.
2. Make sure your case has enough free space (hp) to fit the XFADE 1U module. Avoid leaving gaps between adjacent modules and cover all unused areas with blank panels to prevent debris from falling into the case and causing short circuits.
3. Turn off the power to your case and disconnect the power cable before installing or removing the module. This is important to avoid injury or equipment damage.
4. Ensure that the 10-pin connector on the power cable is connected correctly to the XFADE 1U module. The red stripe on the cable should line up with the -12V pins on the module's power connector. Some modules have shrouded headers to prevent accidental reversal, so double-check the orientation.
5. Connect the other end of the cable, which has a 16-pin connector, to the power bus board of your Eurorack case. Ensure that the red stripe on the cable lines up with the -12V pins on the bus board. Refer to the documentation of your power supply if you're using a different manufacturer's power supply.
6. Before reconnecting power and turning on your modular system, double-check that the ribbon cable is fully seated on both ends and that all the pins are correctly aligned. Misaligned pins or a backward ribbon cable can cause damage to your module, power supply, or other modules. After confirming the connections, reconnect the power cable and turn on your modular system.
Remember to always consult the user manual and contact Intellijel Designs, Inc. if you have any uncertainties or questions regarding the installation process.
