To install the ITC 69640-X-X Modular Nav Light, follow these steps:
1. Disconnect power: Before installing, adding, or changing any component, make sure to disconnect the power source.
2. Gather necessary parts/tools: You will need the following items:
- Navigation Light
- Screws (Bezel Mount Only, not provided)
- Power Drill (not provided)
- Marine Wire Connectors (not provided)
- Application Specific Sealant (not provided)
3. Mounting considerations:
- For the Backnut No Bezel Version: The mounting angle must be on a vertical surface and at 56.25 degrees to meet coast guard requirements. Drill a 7/8" hole in your mounting surface and feed the wires through the pre-drilled hole.
- For the xxxx Mount Bezel Version: The mounting angle must also be on a vertical surface and at 56.25 degrees. Drill a 7/8" hole in your mounting surface and pre-drill xxxx holes. Feed the wires through the pre-drilled 7/8" hole.
4. Wiring the light:
- For both versions, wire the light using the provided wiring diagram.
- Use application specific sealant around the light to prevent any ingress of water.
- For the xxxx Mount Bezel Version, xxxx on the bezel after wiring the light.
- For the Backnut No Bezel Version, xxxx on the back nut to the light until tight.
5. Additional considerations:
- It is recommended to add fuse protection to the positive (+) input.
- All electrical connections should be made inside a watertight junction box.
