To install the Whitecroft Lighting Avenue Micro Led Recessed, please follow the steps below:
1. Ensure that you have a qualified electrician, in accordance with IEE wiring regulations, to carry out the connection to mains wiring.
2. Observe ESD precautions during installation.
3. Make sure to earth the unit.
4. Check that the rated voltage and frequency requirements are compatible with the available mains supply.
5. Clean the reflectors and lenses using clean, soft, and lint-free cloths and anti-static cleaning fluid.
6. Do not carry out a high voltage insulation test, as it may damage internal components.
7. Before starting the installation, isolate the mains supply.
8. Do not use power tools to tighten fixings on this product, as it is not suitable for wall mounting.
9. Ensure a minimum void depth of 90 mm (110 mm at cable entries).
10. Cut a rectangular hole in the ceiling based on the length of the fitting.
11. To calculate the cut-out for each length, add 3.6 mm to the total length of the individual components to allow for the end caps.
12. Remove the diffuser (1) and the LED tray (2).
13. Unclip the module plugs/earthing spade.
14. Prepare the cable as shown (1) and fit the gland to the cable (2). Secure the gland to the body.
15. Attach end caps at both ends of the fitting using the M4 screws supplied (do not overtighten). Note: For joining multiple fittings, leave one or both end caps off.
16. Undo the twist bracket to the ceiling thickness +5 mm.
17. Offer the product up into the ceiling cut-out.
18. Tighten the ceiling retainer screws until the product is held securely.
19. Connect the main supply to the terminal block.
20. For switch dim link D2 to N, connect D1 to the mains supply via a push to make retractive switch.
21. For joining multiple fittings, tap two alignment pins into one end of each product with a hammer. Ensure alignment pins connect to each fitting.
22. Offer up a ramping bracket, then insert and tighten screws until fittings are joined securely (do not overtighten).
23. Link terminal blocks at each end using cables supplied.
24. Offer up LED tray(s) and re-connect plugs and earthing spade, then push LED tray(s) into fitting ensuring clips are correctly located and secure.
25. Push the diffuser back into the fitting until it is secure.
26. To prevent light spill gaps on longer runs, an additional section of a diffuser is supplied with the end cap kit. If required, it should be fitted before the final diffuser, which should be trimmed using appropriate cutting equipment before fitting.
27. Once the installation is complete, reinstate the mains supply.
Please note that any alterations made to the luminaire may affect life and light output and invalidate any warranty. The luminaire complies with all safety standards set out in BS EN 60598.
