To connect the SmartGen BAC1210 Battery Charger to your battery, follow these steps:
1. Connect terminals L and N of the charger to an alternating voltage source (100-277)V using a BVR 1mm2 multi-strand copper line.
2. Connect the B+ terminal of the charger to the positive terminal of your battery using a BVR 2.0mm2 multi-strand copper line.
3. Connect the B- terminal of the charger to the negative terminal of your battery using a BVR 2.0mm2 multi-strand copper line.
4. The PE terminal inside the charger has already been connected to the shell, which serves as the earth terminal.
Once the connections are made, you will see two indicators on the charger:
1. FULL: This indicator will be illuminated when the battery is fully charged.
2. CHARGING: This indicator will be illuminated when the charging current exceeds 0.5A and will extinguish when charging is completed.
Please note that the charger can be used together with a charging generator in parallel, and there is no need to disconnect the charger when cranking. However, it is recommended to separately connect the charger to the battery terminal to avoid disturbance on sampling precision caused by voltage drop in the charging line during generator operation.
