Cleaning the Silvercrest SWKC 3000 E3 Kettle is important to maintain its performance and prolong its lifespan. Here is how you can clean the kettle:
1. Before cleaning, always remove the plug from the mains power socket to avoid the risk of electrical shock.
2. Do not open any part of the housing as there are no user-serviceable elements inside.
3. Never submerge the appliance in water or other liquids to prevent fatal electric shock.
4. Let the appliance cool sufficiently before cleaning to avoid the risk of burns.
5. Clean the exterior surfaces and the power cable with a slightly damp cloth. Ensure that the appliance is well dried before using it again. For stubborn soiling, use a mild detergent on the cloth. Make sure there are no detergent residues left on the appliance.
6. Rinse the inside of the kettle with clean water.
7. If there are any deposits in the kettle, wipe the inside surface with a moist cloth or use a washing-up brush or bottle brush. Then rinse the kettle with clean water again.
8. If there are scale deposits on the bottom of the kettle, descale the appliance using a descaler designed for household appliances, such as those used for coffee machines. Follow the instructions provided with the descaling agent.
9. After descaling, rinse the appliance thoroughly with clean water.
10. To clean the scale filter insert, remove the lid and reach into the jug with one hand. Hold the scale filter insert from the outside by pressing through the spout against the filter insert and catch it with the other hand inside the jug. Clean the scale filter insert with a slightly moistened dishcloth under running water. If there are solidified scale deposits, soak the filter in a water-vinegar solution with a ratio of 6:1 for a few hours, then rinse it with plenty of fresh water.
Remember to always follow the safety instructions provided in the manual while cleaning the kettle.
