To avoid damage during installation of the ASHCROFT SL17 Submersible Pressure Transmitter, it is important to follow these guidelines:
1. Avoid excessive overpressure, vibration, or pressure pulsation, as these can cause irreversible damage to the transmitter. If you have any questions or concerns, consult Ashcroft Inc. before installing.
2. Prevent fluid hammer and surges, which can destroy the pressure transmitter. Ensure that fluid lines remain full, pumps increase or decrease power slowly, and valves open or close slowly.
3. Control the height, speed, and orientation of the sensor during installation to minimize impact. Impact can mimic a fluid surge event and mechanically damage the sensor.
4. Prohibit the freezing of media in the pressure port or surrounding the unit. Freezing can cause irreparable damage to the sensor and/or transmitter assembly.
