To install the PORTOR LIGHTING PT-T8-4FB Series LED Tube, please follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the power supply from the main circuit breaker is turned off before starting the installation.
2. Read all safety information and instructions provided in the installation guide.
3. If you are performing a Type B application (direct wire, ballast-free), make sure to disconnect power at the fuse or circuit breaker before installing or servicing.
4. The LED tube is suitable for damp locations but should not be directly exposed to water.
5. Only use the control provided with or specified by the instructions to control the lamp. Do not connect it to a standard (incandescent) dimmer or dimming control.
6. The LED tube should only be installed in operating environments ranging between 20°C and +45°C (4°F and +113°F) to prevent early lamp failure.
7. If you are not qualified, do not attempt the installation. Contact a qualified electrician.
8. Install the retrofit kit only in luminaires that have the construction features and dimensions shown in the photographs and/or drawings, and where the input rating of the retrofit kit does not exceed the input rating of the luminaire.
9. Do not make or alter any open holes in an enclosure of wiring or electrical components during the kit installation.
10. To prevent wiring damage or abrasion, do not expose wiring to edges of sheet metal or other sharp objects.
11. Installers should not disconnect existing wires from lamp socket terminals to make new connections at lamp socket terminals. Instead, cut existing lamp socket leads away from the lamp socket and make new electrical connections to lamp socket lead wires using suitable connectors.
12. Examine all parts that are not intended to be replaced by the retrofit kit for damage and replace any damaged parts prior to installation.
13. The tube is installed as Type B, which means the luminaire, once modified as a retrofit fixture, will no longer operate fluorescent lamps.
14. Select the desired color temperature by using the color (CCT) selector switch on the LED lamp base. Make sure the lamp is not energized when changing the color temperature.
15. Follow the provided wiring diagram to connect the two wires to the branch circuit L and N.
16. If you are using a 0-10V dimming system, refer to the wiring diagram for direct AC wiring with dimming.
17. For single-ended wiring installation, use un-shunted lamp holders. For double-ended wiring installation, it is not necessary to change the sockets/lamp holders if they are in good condition.
18. Disconnect the power of the luminaire before starting the installation.
19. Remove the existing tube lamp(s) by rotating them a quarter turn and sliding them out.
20. Remove the troffer lens, if present.
21. Remove the ballast cover, which may be secured with screws or tabs.
22. Modify the circuit according to the Type B wiring diagram.
23. Install the LED tube lamp by aligning the power end of the LED with the powered tube socket. Slide the pins into the sockets and rotate a quarter turn until the LED tube locks in place.
24. Replace the troffer lens, if present.
25. After the modification is completed, attach the Replacement Marking and cautionary Label to a visible place on the luminaire and keep it visible after installation. Mark the type of wiring on the luminaire label (single or double-ended).
26. Restore power to the circuit/luminaire and test the light. If necessary, adjust the position of the LED tube.
