The ASHCROFT L-Series Snap Action Switch for Temperature Control can be mounted using the integral bracket provided. The control has a NEMA-4 enclosure which is an epoxy coated aluminum casting. There are two holes in the integral bracket that can be used to surface mount the control. The location of these holes is shown on the general dimension drawings. Alternatively, an optional pipe mounting bracket is also available. It is important to mount the control on a vibration-free surface or pipe in any orientation.
If pressure may be applied to the thermal system, it is recommended to use a well for installation. The well provides protection against physical damage and the corrosive effects of media flow. It also facilitates the removal of the bulb from the process line without disturbing the process. Standard well materials include brass and stainless steel, but other materials are available upon request. The selection of the well material should be based on corrosion resistance requirements and process pressure.
