To install the EMTEK IN4-DEADBLTDUBL-TRI Double Cylinder Deadbolts on a regular door, please follow the steps below:
1. Door Prep:
- Measure and mark the desired height for the deadbolt on the door.
- Use a template provided in the installation guide to mark the location for the deadbolt hole.
- Drill a 2 ⅛" diameter hole through the door at the marked location.
2. Door Jamb Prep:
- Measure and mark the desired height for the strike plate on the door jamb.
- Use a template provided in the installation guide to mark the location for the strike plate hole.
- Drill a 1" diameter hole through the door jamb at the marked location.
3. Install Latch:
- Insert the latch assembly into the edge of the door, ensuring that the curved side faces the direction the door closes.
- Secure the latch assembly with the provided screws.
4. Outside Installation:
- Insert the outside portion of the deadbolt into the hole on the exterior side of the door.
- Align the xxxx holes on the deadbolt with the holes on the interior side of the door.
- Secure the deadbolt in place using the provided screws.
5. Inside Installation:
- Insert the inside portion of the deadbolt into the hole on the interior side of the door.
- Align the xxxx holes on the deadbolt with the holes on the exterior side of the door.
- Secure the deadbolt in place using the provided screws.
Note: The door thickness for installation should be between 1 ¾" and 2 ¾". If your door is thinner, an extension ring or collar is provided for certain product models (8323, 8454, 8466, 8468, 8458, 8459, 8467, 8469, 8475, 8355, 8364). Follow the instructions in the manual for installing the deadbolt on thin doors using the extension ring or collar.
