To install the ASHCROFT CXLdp Differential Pressure Transmitter, follow these steps:
1. Before installation, consult Ashcroft Inc. if you have any questions or concerns.
2. Be aware of potential causes of failure, such as excessive overpressure, vibration, pressure pulsation, instrument temperature, and corrosion.
3. Take precautions to prevent damage from static electrical charges by following proper ESD protection procedures.
4. Mount the transmitter on a 35 mm DIN rail or using #8 or #10 screws and the provided mounting holes.
5. Use shielded cable for optimum performance and connect the shield to the guard terminal on the reading instrument or ground.
6. Remove the terminal block on the front of the transmitter and connect the electrical wires according to the terminal block label markings.
7. For 4-20 mA output, use the left negative (-) and right positive (+) terminals. For 0-10 Vdc output, follow the label markings for terminal assignments.
8. Reinstall the terminal block plug securely.
9. Avoid grounding the pressure connection fittings for better immunity from EMI.
10. Calibrate the transmitter by connecting the high and low pressure connections together using the provided tubing to find the true zero differential pressure.
11. Use a 3/32" or 2.5mm slotted or Philips screwdriver to adjust the zero potentiometer if needed.
12. For span calibration, use a high accuracy pressure standard and high-quality electrical meter.
13. If necessary, remove the transmitter from the DIN rail by unplugging the wiring terminal block and using a small slotted screwdriver to release the black plastic clip.
