To use the Testboy TB 27 Analog cable detector to find or trace telecommunications cables, follow these steps:
1. Connect the cables of the transmitter to the line you are seeking. Connect one wire to the line and the other wire to the shielding.
2. Activate the transmitter and select the test sound (continuous or alternating tone).
3. Switch on the receiver. The receiver is only active when the button is pressed.
4. Adjust the sensitivity of the receiver to the ambient conditions.
5. Touch the instrument tip of the receiver to all the lines that come into question. The loudest sound received from the cable searched for indicates the correct line.
