For 1¼" to 12" models Z07 and Z05 couplings, tighten the nuts alternately and equally until the bolt pads meet and make metal-to-metal contact. Then, tighten the nuts by another one-quarter to one-half turn to ensure the bolts and nuts are snug and secure. The use of a torque wrench is not required. For 14" to 24" models Z07 and Z07N couplings, follow the same tightening procedure. However, large diameter couplings over 14" consist of three to four housing segments, and they need to be preassembled loosely into two or three equal assemblies before installation.
