To measure DC voltage using the POWER PROBE PPDMM Digital Multimeter, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the meter is in the correct operating temperature range (0°C-40°C/32°F-104°F) and relative humidity (75% max operating).
2. Check the meter for any damage or abnormalities before use.
3. Connect the black test lead to the common jack and the red test lead to the input jack.
4. Turn the rotary switch to the DC voltage function.
5. Set the range to the desired value. The default range is auto, but you can switch to manual range by pressing the "RAN" button. Each press of the button increases the range, and it returns to the lowest range when pressed in the highest range. Hold the "RAN" button to return to auto range.
6. Touch the test leads to the circuit or component you want to measure. Connect the black test lead first, followed by the red lead.
7. Read the measurement value on the LCD display. The meter has a 3 ¾ digit display (6000 counts) for accurate readings.
8. If necessary, you can use the hold function to freeze the current reading on the display. Press the "Hold/Backlight" button to hold the reading, and press it again to release the hold.
9. After measurement, disconnect the test leads from the circuit.
