To install the Superior Life T8 LED Sign Linear, please follow these steps:
1. Find a qualified electrician for installation. It is important to have a professional handle the installation process.
2. Before installation, read and follow all safety instructions provided in the manual.
3. Disconnect power before starting the installation to avoid the risk of shock.
4. If you are not qualified or familiar with luminaires electrical systems, do not attempt the installation and contact a qualified electrician.
5. The product must be installed in accordance with the national electrical code or your local electrical code. If you are not familiar with these codes and requirements, contact a qualified electrician.
6. Install the kit only in luminaires that have the construction features and dimensions shown in the photographs and/or drawings, and ensure that the input rating of the retrofit kit does not exceed the input rating of the luminaire.
7. Take caution to prevent wiring damage or abrasion. Do not expose wiring to sharp objects or make any open holes in the enclosure of wiring or electrical components during kit installation.
8. Do not use this retrofit kit in luminaires employing shunted bi-pin lampholders, as it may pose a fire or shock hazard. Shunted lamp holders are found in fluorescent luminaires with Instant-Start ballasts. Instant-start ballasts can be identified by the words "Instant Start" or "I.S." marked on the ballast. For more information, contact the LED luminaire retrofit kit manufacturer.
9. When making new electrical connections, do not disconnect existing wires from lampholder terminals. Instead, cut existing lamp holder leads away from the lamp holder and make new electrical connections to lampholder lead wires using applicable connectors.
10. Check for enclosed wiring and components to ensure that luminaire wiring and electrical parts are not damaged during the installation of the retrofit kit hardware.
11. Before installing the upgrade kit, check the existing wiring for damage. If the existing wires are damaged, do not proceed with the installation. The retrofit kit is accepted as a component of a luminaire, and the suitability of the combination should be determined by authorities having jurisdiction. The product must be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with applicable electrical codes.
12. The installation guide does not supersede local or national regulations for electrical installation. The retrofit luminaire should be marked with the statement "This luminaire has been modified and can no longer operate the originally intended lamp" for user visibility during normal maintenance, including re-lamping.
13. Do not use the retrofit kit with dimmers. It is suitable for damp locations and enclosed luminaires, but not intended for use with emergency exit fixtures.
14. Always disconnect power or circuit breaker before installing or servicing the product.
