To install and use the Guardian TBF15P-1120 Electronic Power Conditioner, follow these steps:
1. Turn off and unplug the equipment you want to protect from the wall outlet.
2. Plug the equipment into the Guardian unit.
3. Plug the Guardian unit into a grounded wall outlet.
4. Your equipment is now fully protected. Place the Guardian where monitoring lights can be observed.
If you want to protect your telephone line and network cable, follow these additional steps:
For Telephone Line Protection:
1. Unplug the equipment's telephone cable from the wall jack and plug it into the RJ11 "DEVICE" on the Guardian.
2. Plug the provided telephone cable into the RJ11 jack "LINE" on the Guardian.
3. Plug the other end of the telephone cable into the RJ11 wall jack.
For Network Cable Protection:
1. Unplug the equipment's network cable from the wall RJ45 network jack and plug it into the RJ45 "DEVICE" on the Guardian.
2. Plug the provided CAT5 cable into the RJ45 jack "LINE" on the Guardian.
3. Plug the other end of the CAT5 cable into the wall RJ45 network jack.
The GREEN light on the Guardian confirms that the connected equipment is fully protected. The RED light indicates over voltage, improper ground connection, or reversed power wires, which need to be corrected. If the RED light comes on, contact your electrician to inspect and correct the outlet wiring for maximum protection.
Please note that the Guardian is designed to be compatible with a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter), but it may trip the GFCI during plug-in. Press the reset button to restart the circuit. Do not plug more than 3 Guardian products into a circuit that has a GFCI circuit breaker or GFCI wall outlets.
