To set up the SC200 Universal Controller with Ultrasonic Flow Sensor for flow monitoring, follow these steps:
1. Mount the controller: The SC200 controller can be panel, surface, or pole mounted. Use the included hardware for installation.
2. Connect the sensors: The SC200 controller can operate either 2 digital sensor inputs or 1 or 2 analog sensor inputs. Analog sensor modules can be added in the field, while digital sensor ports are factory installed. The controller will scan and detect new sensors added. It works with GLI and Hach digital sensors.
3. Set up the flow sensor: Select the primary gauging structure from the library of flumes and weirs for flow sensor setup. If you have a non-standard structure, you can enter a flow curve. The ultrasonic flow sensor is non-contact and requires no routine maintenance. It uses pulse echo technology.
4. Configure the controller: The SC200 controller platform can be configured to operate with different communication options, such as MODBUS RTU or Profibus DPV1. Choose the communication option that suits your needs.
5. Set up the display: The SC200 controller has a large display with scrolling menus for easy setup. It has a transreflective display that stays readable even in sunlight.
6. Manage data: The SC200 controller supports data management with an SD card. You can simplify data download and transfer using the SD card. Firmware updates can also be done via the SD card or a special RS232 cable.
7. Ensure ease of use and confidence in results: The SC200 controller has a new display and guided calibration procedures to reduce operator error. It also has password protection to prevent tampering and unwanted programming changes. A visual warning system provides critical alerts.
