To adjust the torso length on the Eagle Creek Tour Travel Pack 40L, follow these steps:
1. Find the C7 vertebra on the back of your neck when dropping your chin to your chest. This will serve as a reference point for measuring your torso length.
2. Determine the appropriate size based on your torso length:
- Small/Medium: 14 in - 18 in / 36 cm - 46 cm
- Medium/Large: 15 in - 20 in / 38 cm - 51 cm
3. Loosen all the straps on the backpack, including the load lifter straps, shoulder straps, hip belt, and sternum strap.
4. Open the padded back panel flaps to allow the yoke (the part of the backpack that rests on your shoulders) to slide up and down.
5. Slide the yoke up or down to the desired fit using the Torso Length Indicator on the back panel. Secure it in place using the hook and loop closure.
6. Before putting the pack on, fill it with at least 15-20 lb / 7-9 kg of weight to simulate a loaded pack.
7. Put the pack on and secure the hip belt comfortably around your hips. The weight of the bag should rest on your hips, not your shoulders.
8. Snug the shoulder straps to ensure a secure fit.
9. Adjust the sternum strap by moving it up or down to find a comfortable position that does not restrict your breathing.
10. Finally, snug the load lifter straps to pull the weight of the pack toward your core. The ideal fit is a 30° - 60° angle between the load lifter straps and the backpack.
By following these steps, you can adjust the torso length and achieve a comfortable and secure fit with the Eagle Creek Tour Travel Pack 40L.
