To install the Lightcloud LCBC6R189TWUNVWS-SS-NS Commercial Downlight, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the power: Place the wall switch in the off position and turn off the main power at the breaker panel or remove the fuse from the fuse box.
2. Find a suitable location: Position the Lightcloud Blue devices within 60 ft. of each other. If there are building materials like brick, concrete, or steel construction obstructing the signal, additional Lightcloud Blue devices may be required.
3. Install the Lightcloud Blue Commercial Downlight:
a. With Existing Housing:
- Remove the CFL, incandescent, or HID lamp.
- Remove the reflector from the rough-in (mounting frame).
- Remove the socket assembly from the reflector.
- Remove the J-Box metal plate with the existing lamp ballast. Disconnect all wires from the ballast.
- Remove the existing lamp metal conduit (MC) cable from the J-Box.
- Fasten the LED retrofit kit MC cable to the J-Box with an MC connector.
- Wire nut the ground (green) wire in the junction box. Wire nut the black input wire with the black wire from the MC cable, and wire nut the white input wire with the white wire from the MC cable. Wire nut the purple input wire with the purple wire from the MC cable, and wire nut the pink input wire with the pink wire from the cable. If the purple and pink wires are not in use, cap each wire separately with a wire nut.
- Put back the J-Box metal plate (with the lamp ballast still attached to it).
- Install the downlight in the rough-in by lifting both retention tabs upward. Push the downlight until it sits flush against the ceiling.
b. Without Existing Housing:
- Use the template provided in the box to cut a hole in the ceiling.
- Fasten the downlight MC cable to a junction box with an MC connector.
- Wire nut the ground (green) wire in the junction box. Wire nut the black input wire with the black wire from the MC cable, and wire nut the white input wire with the white wire from the MC cable. Wire nut the purple input wire with the purple wire from the MC cable, and wire nut the pink input wire with the pink wire from the MC cable. If the purple and pink wires are not in use, cap them with wire nuts.
- Install the junction box cover plate.
- Install the downlight by lifting both retention tabs upward.
- Push the downlight until it sits flush against the ceiling.
