To perform a measurement using the Linshang LS110A Split Transmission Meter, follow these steps:
1. Power on the meter: Short press the "Power" button on both the main and auxiliary parts to power on the instrument. The meter will shut down automatically if there is no action within 15 minutes.
2. Perform self-test: Attract the main and auxiliary parts together and press down the "POWER" button on both parts. Align the upper and lower laser points with the alignment bull's eyes simultaneously. Wait for the completion of the self-test, indicated by VLT 100%, IRR, and UVR 0% displayed on the LCD. If the self-test fails, refer to the manual for troubleshooting steps.
3. Clamp the sample: Clamp the sample with both the main and auxiliary parts of the meter. Align the laser point with the bull's eyes on the sample.
4. Read the measurement: The meter will display the transmission (rejection) value of the sample on the LCD.
Note: Ensure that the meter is not exposed to direct sunlight during use to ensure the accuracy of the measured value. Also, avoid pointing the laser at anyone's eyes as it emits a laser beam from the back side of the auxiliary part.
