To adjust the ride height of your motorcycle using the KODLin 1Inch K66031 and 2Inch K66029 Lowering Kits, follow these steps:
1. Start by gaining access to the shock links mounting hardware. This requires removing the upper and lower exhaust mufflers, center stand, and right-side foot control. Make sure to leave the brake line connected and tied off in a safe location.
2. Remove the lower muffler mount, which is hidden behind the foot control. First, remove the center stand and foot control.
3. Adjust the bike's height so that the tire is barely touching the lift or the ground.
4. Loosen and remove the two nuts and bolts that hold the OEM shock links in place. There is one set of nuts and bolts on each side of the bike. Adjust the bike's height until the bolts slide out easily.
5. Lower the bike if necessary to align the shock link mounting holes when installing the new KODLin links.
6. It is important to use medium strength thread locker, such as blue Loctite®, on all stock bolts during installation.
7. Torque the four link mounting nuts to 62 ft/lbs.
8. Reinstall the foot control, center stand, lower and upper mufflers, following the reverse steps used in the removal process.
Please note that KODLin does not provide warranty coverage for improper installation or lack of maintenance. It is the installer's responsibility to ensure that all fasteners are properly tightened before operating the motorcycle. We recommend following the manufacturer's torque specifications and periodically checking the belt tension for proper tension.
