To install the HESSAIRE 36D370S Cabinet Exhaust Fan, follow these steps:
1. Gather the necessary tools and materials, including a drill, saw, level, screwdriver(s), 5/16" nut driver, construction screws, and caulk or sealant.
2. Inspect the fan for any damage that may have occurred during transit. Check for loose, missing, or damaged parts. If there is physical damage, file a freight claim with the carrier.
3. Make sure to tighten all bolts, screws, and set screws and ensure that the propeller turns freely by rotating it by hand.
4. Before starting the installation, always lock out and tag the power source to prevent electrical shock or injury.
5. Position the fan in the wall with the discharge shutter facing the outside of the building. The louvers should hang down and be closed completely.
6. Securely fasten the fan in the opening using proper fasteners. It is recommended to use an aluminum or iron angle on the sides/top/bottom of the fan to attach it to the wall and help close the rough-in gap around the fan.
7. Use fan support bracing (wall brackets) to properly support the portion of the fan that hangs out of the opening.
8. Seal around the fan to prevent air leakage.
9. Refer to the motor nameplate for the wiring diagram and make the electrical connections according to the local codes and ordinances. It is recommended to have qualified electrical personnel perform the electrical connections.
10. Once the fan is installed, ensure that the propeller is torqued properly and all fasteners, screens, and shutters are securely in place.
11. If the fan is installed within 7ft of the floor or working level, make sure to have OSHA-compliant guards in place.
