To take a breath test using the Gastrolyzer GastroCH 4 ECK, please follow these steps:
1. Make sure the power cord is connected and the GastroCH ECK® is switched on.
2. Connect the sample line to the direct sample line connector; you should hear a click when it is properly attached.
3. Attach the mouthpiece to the sample line.
4. Press the power button to start the test. The screen will display "Zeroing" while the sensor is calibrating.
5. When prompted, inhale and hold your breath for the pre-set 15 seconds. A beep will sound during the last 3 seconds of the countdown.
6. Blow slowly into the mouthpiece, aiming to keep the arrow in the green section.
7. The arrow will change color as the level of CH4 in the breath sample reduces to the target 15%. Once it turns green, the test will automatically stop after 3 seconds.
8. If you are unable to complete the test, press the power button to cancel.
9. The final results will be shown on the screen.
10. Press the appropriate button for a visual indicator of the results: good, satisfactory, or poor. If the result is poor, you may consider retaking the test.
11. Press the appropriate button to return to the results.
12. If you want to take another test, press the power button and repeat steps 4-11.
13. Remember to remove the mouthpiece and sample line in between tests to purge the sensors with fresh air.
