To clean and disinfect the HOTDOG U1XX Patient Warming Mattress, follow the steps below:
1. If the device appears visibly soiled, remove any visible soiling before applying a disinfectant. Scrub the affected area with detergent, using a soft brush or sponge to remove organic matter. Rinse the surface of the Warming Mattress using a dampened cloth. Do not immerse the device in liquids.
2. Apply a low- or intermediate-level disinfectant to the entire surface of the Warming Mattress by spraying or wiping. Follow the disinfectant manufacturer's application instructions to ensure proper disinfection.
3. Dry the Warming Mattress thoroughly before use.
Please note that hydrogen peroxide-based cleaning solutions are not recommended as the vapors can degrade the conductive fabric heaters. Alcohol-based disinfectants are generally recommended as they are fast-acting and can be sprayed or wiped on the device. Other cleaners compatible with the outer surface of the device include sodium hypochlorite (diluted bleach), phenolic germicidal detergent, and quaternary ammonium detergent. Iodine-containing cleaners are not recommended for routine cleaning as they may cause discoloration of the surface material.
It is important to follow your hospital's specific cleaning protocols for non-critical, non-sterile medical devices that may come into contact with intact skin.
Please refer to the "Cleaning and Disinfection" section of the HOTDOG U1XX Patient Warming Mattress User Manual for more detailed instructions and precautions.
