To assemble and use the REED DM2100 Drilling Machine, follow these steps:
1. Select the proper tools necessary for drilling operations, including a service saddle, corporation stop, drill size, and drill adapter.
2. Clean the area of the pipe where the tap is to be performed using a descaler.
3. Assemble the service saddle securely onto the pipe.
4. Insert the corporation stop into the saddle threads and tighten it with a smooth jaw wrench.
5. xxxx the proper size black corporation adapter into the brass threaded body of the machine.
6. Assemble the drill adapter and appropriate drill into the boring bar. If drilling 1 1/2" or 2", use a hole saw adapter and hole saws with pilot drills.
7. xxxx the corp adapter onto the corporation stop.
8. Run the drill bit down until it touches the pipe.
9. Swing the star feed yoke over the top of the bearing and tighten the star feed.
10. Attach a ratchet wrench to the square drive and turn the drill clockwise while turning the feed housing to feed the drill. Do not overfeed the drill, hole saw, or shell cutter.
11. Open the ball valve on the side of the corp adapter to allow the flushing of chips.
12. Once the drill is completely through the pipe, release the yoke star feed to allow the boring bar to return to its uppermost position.
13. Close off the corporation stop using an adjustable wrench.
14. Disassemble the machine from the corporation stop.
15. Assemble tubing to the corporation stop per tubing and fitting manufacturer's specifications.
