To install the WM-E2S Modem, follow these steps:
1. Remove the meter terminal cover by unscrewing the screws.
2. Make sure the modem is not powered and disconnect the RJ45 connection from the meter.
3. Position the PCB to the left and open the plastic SIM holder's cover by pushing it from left to right.
4. Insert an active SIM card into the holder, making sure the chip is facing down and the cut edge is facing outside towards the antenna. Close the SIM holder.
5. Ensure that the antenna's internal black cable is connected to the U.FL connector.
6. Close the enclosure's top cover by fastening the ears until you hear a click sound.
7. Mount an antenna to the FME antenna connector. If using an SMA antenna, use an SMA-FME converter.
8. Connect the modem to the computer using the RJ45 cable and the RJ45-USB converter. Set the jumpers to the RS232 mode.
9. Configure the modem using the WM-E Term software.
10. After configuration, set up the jumpers again. Close the required jumper pairs for RS232 mode or RS485 mode.
11. Connect the RJ45 cable back to the meter. If using RS485 port, modify the jumpers to RS485 mode.
12. Connect the RJ45 cable from the modem to the meter's RJ45 connector according to the meter type and readout port.
13. The modem will be powered by the meter and its operation will start, which can be checked with the LEDs.
