To install the Danfoss ICF Series Valve Station, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the valve is installed with the arrow in the direction of the flow.
2. For ICM, ICFD, and ICFG modules, the valve must be horizontally oriented.
3. The valve will be delivered with all the function modules fully assembled. However, the modules can be taken out for service or inspection and may be rotated 4 x 90° in relation to the valve body upon installation. Make sure that the position of ICFD allows space for modules at each side of the ICFD.
4. The ICF may be fitted with a spindle for manual opening of the solenoid valve.
5. Ensure that the piping system is designed to avoid liquid traps and reduce the risk of hydraulic pressure caused by thermal expansion.
6. Protect the valve from pressure transients like "liquid hammer" in the system.
7. For welding, the valve can be welded using TIG/MIG/SMAW welding or gas welding/brazing. Keep the inlet and outlet protecting caps on the valve until it is ready to be installed to prevent rust formation inside the valve station.
8. After welding, clean the valve inside for welding spatter and debris.
9. The valve must be free from stresses (external loads) after installation.
10. The outlet side of the valve must always be connected to the system or properly capped off.
11. Apply a suitable top coating to the external surface of the valve to protect against corrosion.
12. Ensure that the valve is properly identified using the ID label on each function module.
