To install the Danfoss FIA SS 15-65 Strainer in Stainless Steel, please follow these steps:
1. Note that at delivery, the strainer housing does not come equipped with a filter element or accessories.
2. The strainer must be installed with the top cover downwards, and the flow should be directed towards the top cover as indicated by the arrow on the strainer housing.
3. The strainer element must be inserted after welding.
4. Ensure that the piping system is designed to avoid liquid traps and reduce the risk of hydraulic pressure caused by thermal expansion. The strainer should be protected from pressure transients like "liquid hammer" in the system.
5. The strainer must be installed with the flow towards the top cover as indicated by the arrow on the side of the valve body. Flow in the opposite direction is not acceptable.
6. Before welding, remove the top cover to prevent damage to the gasket between the strainer body and top cover. Protect the top cover from dirt and moisture during welding.
7. Only use materials and welding methods compatible with the valve housing material when welding to the valve housing.
8. Clean the strainer housing internally to remove welding debris after welding and before reassembling the valve.
9. If the temperature during welding does not exceed +150°C/+302°F, the top cover can be left on. Ensure no dirt or welding debris enters the strainer during the welding process.
10. After installation, make sure the strainer housing is free from external loads or stresses.
11. The outlet side of the strainer must always be connected to the system or properly capped off, for example with a welded-on end plate.
12. Remove welding debris and any dirt from pipes and strainer body before assembly. Check that the strainer element has the right size and the gasket is undamaged.
13. Place the strainer element from underneath. It has a slight force fit into the housing, and no gaskets or O-rings are used.
14. If magnet inserts have been chosen as an accessory, fit them on the top cover before replacing the cover.
15. Tighten the top cover with a torque wrench according to the values indicated in the provided table. Do not exceed the maximum torque specified in the table.
16. If the drain valve has been chosen as an accessory, replace the drain plug with the drain valve.
Please refer to the provided manual for more detailed instructions and illustrations.
