To install the Danfoss FIA 15-200 Strainer, follow these steps:
1. Note that the strainer housing does not come equipped with a strainer insert or accessories at delivery.
2. Install the strainer with the top cover facing downwards, and ensure that the flow is directed towards the top cover as indicated by the arrow on the strainer housing.
3. Insert the strainer insert after welding.
4. Ensure that the piping system is designed to avoid liquid traps and reduce the risk of hydraulic pressure caused by thermal expansion.
5. Protect the strainer from pressure transients like "liquid hammer" in the system.
6. Install the strainer with the flow towards the top cover as indicated by the arrow on the side of the valve body. Flow in the opposite direction is not acceptable.
7. Remove the top cover before welding to prevent damage to the gasket between the strainer housing and top cover.
8. Use materials and welding methods compatible with the valve housing material.
9. Clean the strainer housing internally to remove welding debris after welding and before reassembling the strainer.
10. Ensure that no dirt or welding debris gets into the strainer during the welding procedure.
11. Make sure the strainer housing is free from external loads after installation.
12. Connect the outlet side of the strainer to the system or properly cap it off with a welded-on end plate.
13. Remove welding debris and any dirt from pipes and strainer housing before assembly.
14. Check that the strainer insert has the right size and the gasket is undamaged.
15. Place the strainer insert from underneath, ensuring it has a slight force fit into the housing.
16. If magnet inserts have been chosen as an accessory, fit them on the top cover before replacing the cover.
17. Tighten the top cover with a torque wrench according to the values indicated in the provided table. Do not exceed the maximum torque specified.
18. If the drain valve has been chosen as an accessory, replace the drain plug with the drain valve.
19. Protect the external surface of the strainer housing against corrosion with a suitable protective coating after installation and assembly.
20. Ensure the ID plate is protected when repainting the strainer.
