To clean the inside of your GE Appliances FCM5 chest freezer, follow these steps:
1. Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
2. Mix a mild solution of baking soda and water. Use one tablespoon of baking soda for every quart of water.
3. Dip a clean cloth or sponge into the solution and wipe down the interior surfaces of the freezer. Pay special attention to any spills or stains.
4. Rinse the cloth or sponge with clean water and wipe down the interior again to remove any residue.
5. If there are any removable parts, such as baskets, wash them in the solution or in a dishwasher.
6. After cleaning, dry the interior of the freezer with a clean cloth or allow it to air dry.
7. Plug the freezer back into the power outlet and set the temperature control to the desired setting.
Note: It is recommended to clean the inside of the freezer at least once a year. If the freezer is not practical to unplug, wring excess moisture out of the sponge or cloth when cleaning near switches, lights, or controls.
