There are several factors that can contribute to low output power or no output from the solar panel:
1. Light intensity: The latitude, altitude, and sun altitude angle can affect the light intensity. It is important to note that high temperature does not necessarily mean strong light intensity.
2. Solar installation angle: The installation inclination angle of the solar panel can vary in the same geographical location, leading to differences in the cumulative amount of sunlight absorbed and the cumulative difference in radiation amount. The solar panel works best when it is roughly perpendicular to the light.
3. Solar panel surface temperature: The output power of the solar panel is ideal when the surface temperature is around 77℉. Higher temperatures can cause a decrease in output power.
4. Shadow occlusion: Shadows, dust settlement, and pollution (such as bird droppings) can cause partial occlusion of the solar panel, resulting in the "hot spot effect." The shaded part of the solar panel will not provide power contribution and can become an energy-consuming load. It is important to avoid blocking objects and regularly clean the surface of the solar panel.
5. Load factors: When charging an energy storage system, it can be limited by the maximum PV input current and voltage of the system. The input power displayed on the energy storage display may not represent the maximum output of the solar panel. It is recommended to confirm the PV input related parameters of the energy storage before use.
6. Solar charge controller: The output conversion efficiency of the PWM controller is around 75%, and the output conversion efficiency of the MPPT controller is above 90%. The solar charge controller can limit the output energy of the solar panel.
