To install the AURORA EN-SL1 Single Spike Light, it is recommended to hire a qualified electrician who will follow the latest edition of the National wiring regulations. Here are the steps to follow:
1. Switch off the mains supply before starting the installation.
2. Choose a suitable location for the spike light, considering the IP (Ingress Protection) rating of the luminaire. The IP rating will determine the suitability of the location in terms of exposure to water or dust.
3. Use a suitable IP-rated junction box to connect the spike light to the mains supply. The electrical connections should be tight, including any factory-made connections.
4. Connect the wires as follows: Brown wire to Live (L), Blue wire to Neutral (N), and Green/Yellow wire to Earth. It is important to note that these fittings are class I and must be earthed.
5. Ensure that the maximum lamp wattage does not exceed 20W and use LED lamps for optimal performance.
6. After installation, switch on the mains supply and test the spike light to ensure it is functioning properly.
