To install the Knightsbridge RW6KW IP65 6W Fire Rated CCT Wi-Fi Downlight, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that you have read and understood the safety instructions provided in the user manual. It is important to comply with the latest edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations (BS7671) and current Building Regulations. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician.
2. Before installation or maintenance, isolate the mains power to ensure safety.
3. Check the total load on the circuit to ensure it does not exceed the rating of the circuit cable, fuse, or circuit breaker.
4. Consider the IP (Ingress Protection) rating of the luminaire when deciding on the installation location.
5. If using the downlight under insulation, make sure to lay the insulation unbroken over the luminaire, without packing it around it. Only mineral wool style insulation should be used.
6. The Knightsbridge RW6KW IP65 6W Fire Rated CCT Wi-Fi Downlight is designed for indoor use only.
7. This product is Class II double insulated, meaning it does not require an earth connection.
8. To install, provide power to the required point of installation.
9. Cut a suitable hole in the mounting surface as per the cut-out details provided in the manual. Ensure that you avoid any joists, gas/water pipes, or electrical cables.
10. Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the cover on the rear of the driver, which provides access to the mains terminal block.
11. Connect the luminaire to the mains supply, ensuring the correct polarity is observed. The Live wire (Brown) should be connected to the L terminal, the Earth wire (Green/Yellow) to the E terminal, and the Neutral wire (Blue) to the N terminal. Note that the earth terminal is non-functional and provided for convenience. For RW6KW only, two cables can be inserted into the push-fit terminal block to achieve loop in/loop-out wiring.
12. Refit the terminal cover securely.
13. If you want to change the bezel, turn it anti-clockwise and remove it. Align the new bezel with the front of the luminaire and turn it clockwise to secure it.
14. Lift both of the spring clips on the sides of the luminaire and push it into the ceiling.
15. Switch on the power and check for correct operation. Note that it is normal for the luminaire to flash when switched on for the first time, indicating that it is in pairing mode.
Please refer to the user manual for additional information and safety precautions.
