To properly use the Vestil LPC-SERIES Vertical Plate Clamps, please follow the instructions outlined in the instruction manual provided. Here is a step-by-step guide:
1. Perform a thorough inspection of the product before each use to ensure it is in satisfactory condition. Check for any damage or wear and make sure all parts are functioning properly.
2. Connect the clamp to a hoisting device using a safety hook. Only use a safety hook with a latch that automatically closes to prevent accidental detachment.
3. Unlock the clamp by rotating the lock lever away from the clamp body. Position the clamp above the center of the sheet material you want to lift. The sheet must weigh at least as much as the Minimum Uniform Plate Weight (MUPW) specified for your clamp model.
4. Engage the sheet with the clamp by pressing the clamp onto the top edge of the sheet. The top edge of the sheet should touch the back of the clamp mouth. Lock the clamp by rotating the lock lever towards the clamp body.
5. Confirm that the sheet is balanced when suspended. Raise the load a few inches above the ground and check if the top edge is level. If the load is not balanced, return it to the ground and reposition the clamp to improve balance.
6. Lift the sheet to an ergonomically comfortable height, making sure to steady the load by grasping the hoist hook or the bale of the clamp. Do not apply any weight to the top edge of the sheet material and avoid contact with the lock ring.
7. Move the load to the desired location, walking slowly and keeping the load level. If using a motorized trolley, allow it to provide the movement. If using a manual trolley, grasp the clamp with one hand and carefully move the trolley.
8. Lower the load back to the ground or work surface by slowly lowering the hoist hook until the load contacts the ground. Make sure the load is not swinging or rotating before releasing it. Unlock the clamp by rotating the lock lever to the unlocked position and pull the clamp off the sheet.
Remember to always follow the safety instructions provided in the manual and comply with applicable laws, regulations, and standards. Perform regular inspections and maintenance as outlined in the manual to ensure the clamp remains in satisfactory condition.
