To connect the ZVOX AV120 TV Speaker to your TV, follow these steps:
1. Place the ZVOX speaker in front of your TV or on any level surface near the TV, facing the people watching the TV.
2. Connect the power cord to the DC jack on the back of the speaker, and then plug the AC plug into an AC power receptacle. The speaker will power on.
3. Connect the supplied optical signal cable from the optical digital output jack on your TV to the round end of the optical cable that goes into the ZVOX Speaker. Remove any small clear plastic covers on the cable before connecting.
4. Some TVs may require you to go into the audio menu and turn off the TV's internal speakers to get an audio signal from the optical jack. Refer to your TV's manual or visit zvox.com/setup for more information on how to do this.
5. Set the audio output of your TV to PCM using the TV's menu screen. Use the TV's remote to access the menu, select the Sound option, then select the "Expert Settings" or "Advanced Audio" option, and finally select Digital Output Audio Format and choose PCM.
6. If your TV doesn't have an optical audio output, you can use the supplied analog signal cables. Refer to the manual for instructions on how to connect using the minijack analog audio out or the red and white RCA jack analog audio out.
7. You can also connect the audio output of your cable or satellite set-top box to the ZVOX speaker if your TV's audio output is inaccessible. Follow the same steps as connecting to the TV, using the audio output of the set-top box instead.
8. If you want to use the USB input or connect via Bluetooth, refer to the manual for instructions on how to do so.
