Setting up and using the TEAC Portable 3SP Turntable is a straightforward process. Here are the steps to get started:
1. Unpack the turntable: Remove the turntable from its packaging and ensure all accessories are included.
2. Power supply: Connect the included power adapter to the turntable and plug it into a power outlet.
3. Platter and belt: Place the platter on the turntable base and ensure it sits securely. Attach the belt around the motor spindle and the inner rim of the platter.
4. Tonearm assembly: Lift the tonearm gently and remove the stylus protector. Carefully position the tonearm over the desired record size (7", 10", or 12") and lower it onto the record.
5. Speed selection: Use the speed selector switch to choose the appropriate speed for your record (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM). Make sure the switch is set correctly before playing a record.
6. Audio output: Connect the turntable to an audio system or speakers using the provided RCA cables. Plug the red cable into the right audio input and the white cable into the left audio input.
7. Power on and play: Turn on the turntable using the power switch. Place a record on the platter and gently lower the tonearm onto the record. The turntable will start spinning, and the music will play through your connected audio system.
8. Tonearm control: Use the tonearm control lever to lift and return the tonearm to its resting position at the end of the record.
9. Auto-stop feature: The turntable has an auto-stop feature that lifts the tonearm and stops the record when it reaches the end. This helps to prevent unnecessary wear on the stylus and record.
10. Care and maintenance: To ensure optimal performance, regularly clean the stylus and keep the turntable dust-free. Follow the instructions in the user manual for proper cleaning and maintenance procedures.
